So why do you think they changed the girl player between Crystal and the Johto Remakes?
Aside from adding a bunch of new colors the boy looks basically the same in design but the girl looks completely different

And speaking of Crystal, did you know there’s a glitch where you can make the player character have the colors of the other gender on their overworld sprite?

Of course if you name the character wrong you end up with the wrong gendered name by mistake. I can’t remember if the glitch replaces the sprite but keeps the palette, or just replaces the palette though…

Also for some reason pokedex pages freeze when catching glitch Pokémon in Crystal.

This means you only have a very small window of opportunity to catch them- that space between getting your first Pokémon and returning to the lab with the egg.

Which means you need to cheat pokeballs. On the plus side you won’t end up in Glitch City, unlike in gold and silver

The glitchmon, including the egg, are hex FF, FD, FC, FB and 00. Pokedex numbers 255, 254, 253 (egg), 252 and 000

The game registers these in the pokedex soooo

As for the gen 1 glitches, if you have not seen any other Pokémon they will ALL have pokedex data.

Sometimes though the pokedex thinks you caught a glitch Pokémon just because you have SEEN a normal one.

And hybrids like 44hy or Charizard ‘M or hPoké will only display data if you have not caught the real Pokémon (in this example, Slowbro, Charizard or Gengar)

Generally though a complete pokedex allows you to bypass their screens.

They do.
Most players by the time they get to cinnabar though have seen whatever Pokémon in the game corresponds to the bit of code for having “caught” missingno though.

Obviously they fixed the code in yellow, by making that particular map tile (water with the shoreline on the left) work properly
