I don’t think the codes are confusing

They may be way longer but the value you put in is still the same functionality.

pretend this code is for making an item appear in your inventory

EA5EEA70 XXXX

the XXXX would be the value you’d put in

Like, 0001, E4D1, 01C7 or so on depending on what you’re trying to get (works for Pokémon too)

Oh the older generations are easier.

Their codes are formatted more like

012EA5XX

Same rule for the XX except less to type in

But for pretty much any codes that give you something (item, Pokemon, weapon, character, etc) there’s usually a 2 or 4 digit bit at the end that you change to give you different shit

It’s possible you forgot a line of code (some codes require other codes with them to use) or the code itself was badly made or you just put the ‘wrong’ digits in the end of it (which as glitch researchers is what you would want to do)
